Just wanted to check, I did my blood test 8 weeks post the possible exposure. I know it’s not likely but so many sources say skin-to-skin contact and viral shedding can cause herpes. I’m nervous my blood test at 8 weeks may be false negativesand the swab was on a mostly healed sore so that came back negative but could be false as well.
Should I get retested at 16 weeks?
The urologist I sent a picture to originally and doctor I saw in person who saw the sore both said it looks like herpes. Can I ask the doctors office to order the western blot? I’m in Canada.
I’ve also read several persons stories where they constantly test negative for herpes IGG blood tests, many months later. Is the blood test really that unreliable? My sores disappeared about a month ago and have not reoccurred. Is reoccurence common?
Thank you.
