Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, the two times i was at he clinics, there were no active blisters to swab. I think the diagnosis was mainly due to the fact the the lesion were actually about an inch or so above the base of penis, besides seeing the infected hair and actually no other blisters at the time, then that’s what they based the opinion on. I was just confused because this hasn’t presented at all like “normal” herpes for a primary outbreak i guess. I was expecting lesion to be very painful such as the ones i get with an oral breakout. I also thought herpes usually is unilateral and this seems to be on both sides. They also are never grouped or inflamed.
I’m guessing the best option is to take a IgG test or wait and see if another OB occurs? Is it common for OB’s to continue over several months?
