There is definitely a possibility that you do not have HSV two. You have had one partner and always protected intercourse. You don’t need to worry about oral sex because you already have HSV one and that is what you get from receiving oral sex, if anything, in the way of herpes. You definitely need a Western blot to be clear about your result. You can work with me or you can work with your own provider to obtain this test from the University of Washington. First, you need to obtain a herpes western blot kit from them and you can do that by calling 206-685-6066. I would strongly suggest that you do this follow-up because you simply do not have the sexual history that fits with you having HSV-2 as all of your intercourse contacts were condom protected. The oral sex is not a risk because of herpes that you get from oral sex is HSV one if you get anything, and you already have HSV one.
