No significance, really, except that the number is higher than eight. Some labs use eight is their cut off and don’t give specific index values beyond that. I’ve just seen that enough to know.
If I said that I had seen false positives at values greater than nine, that was about HSV two, not HSV one. They are very different. An IgG test for HSV one that is positive at nine is certainly positive.
There is an online place called 247labkit where are you can get a PCR kit together at home and return to them. It is legitimate, and I think it’s a great tool for those who would like to capture fresh lesions sooner than they can get into their own regular healthcare provider or urgent care.
