I’m not sure if this is considered a follow-up as it is not related to my original post, other than it being an HSV question.
I am in a new relationship and my partner just tested positive for HSV2 through IGG blood test. He doesn’t know the index, just that his Dr said it was extremely high. He has never had an OB and is completely asymptomatic at this point, but is certain he contracted it in Nov 2022.
My question is, is there any benefit to him taking daily antivirals in order to reduce transmission to me, especially since it is a newer infection for him? Or is the risk already very low due to him being asymptomatic?
