Sometimes herpes lesions leave scars but not often. In people of color, the pigment can go away for a while but normally returns after a while.

The prevalence of HSV 2 in college students entering the University of Washington is 3% (determined by the blot). So between that, your very low index value and negative supplemental test, I think you don’t have HSV 2.
