1. I wanted to add that when I first saw the spot it appeared to just be a red spot, on Thurs night is when I noticed there was a cut down there. Does this change your opinion on the accuracy of the swab?
No
2. I’m concerned that maybe there were lesions and were healing and maybe that’s they thought it didn’t look like HSV. Do even healing lesions have a distinctive look? How long does it take for blisters to heal and what do they look like after the scab falls off?
the blisters will become ulcers and those will scab and fall off. It takes anywhere from 4 days to a couple of weeks.
3. I saw an interview you did on YouTube, you had stated that when someone is negative for HSV with a positive partner that sometimes the negative partner’s body recognizes the virus and that can help protect from contracting. Is that for both HSV1 and 2?
All we have is data on HSV 2
4. If someone has genital HSV for over 5 years, would it be unlikely for them to pass it genitally to someone else?
No, they could still pass it on for sure.
