You could get your lesions swab tested using culture, not PCR, and then have it sent for acyclovir resistance. I recommended this previously, but the lesions would need to be swabbed, even though you don’t really like that, which I understand. If the virus is fully sensitive, then you could also try switching to famvir, some people find that helpful as well
