Hands are different because much virus is lost with hands between contacts. I can’t say there is 100% no possibility, but I think none of the herpes experts I know of think this is a risk. I’ve never diagnosed anyone with herpes who has only had finger or hand contact. Never. Everyone has either had intercourse or oral contact.
