More info. The other thing is when I told my 2nd doctor she looked up the testing I had and said the CDC doesn’t recommend that type of testing. (https://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment-guidelines/herpes.htm) Which isn’t helpful because when I look it up it seems most places use monoclonal antibodies or whatever after doing a culture. Plus mines says HSV culture/typing so just seems like they were typing it and not using it directly. (Or maybe they were I wasn’t in the lab lol) The next thing I’m thinking if it was contaminated but my outbreak is gone so I can not do another swab. My doctor said I should do a blood test for antibodies since I’m 3/4 months out and then do a western blot. If I have the antibodies then just accept the diagnosis and if I don’t then raised eyebrows. Or do another STD swab to see if they missed anything in the first place since I did it the day after I had sex and because urine is not super accurate in detecting. But my doctor still pushing it being molluscum since some were dimpled, firm, pearly and kind of domed, and did not really hurt (Again this is subjectivity and appearance only). But in the later pictures it seems like herpes to me. They never scabbed and I don’t think any scars are left behind but I am black and get hyperpigmentation super easily so it might just be blended in. My second doctor asked which lab was it sent to and I have no clue and my chart/diagnosis sheet does not say. I took the swab on my college campus so I don’t know what technology the lab it got sent to has. Then said well since I only had sec with him was January to March it doesn’t seem like it is genital because it doesn’t shed much also. (Not super helpful again.) I wonder if his saliva some how got on me. But my doctor said I have kissed him and no oral herpes so.
I’m just asking what do you recommend I do. Should I just wait to see if I have another outbreak, or should I do the blood test recommend by my doctor then the western blot. Do you think I have it?
