So it sounds like you think that the indeterminate is unlikely due to “during seroconversion” based on my fact pattern.
The other 2 options given are “nonspecific immune response” and “artifact of blood products”.
Questions:
1) Is it possible that the second test could come back negative? Or am I just hoping for indeterminate at best?
2) If indeterminate again, what is the reasonable explanation for continuous indeterminate? And is there authoritative literature that I can reference if I need to have a discussion about this with a potential partner? Also, how do I prove WB is the gold standard?
3) What does nonspecific immune response mean? And is this most likely what’s causing my issue?
4) Instructions on results say no sooner than 3 months apart. Test description on UW website says “For accurate seroconversion determination, the acute and convalescent samples should be drawn at least 12 – 16 weeks apart.” I want to get this done as soon as possible, but do not want to ruin it in haste. Is 12 weeks acceptable?
I can’t tell you how valuable a service you are providing for people. I’m so glad I found your site. You have been able to answer so many questions I have had. I’m not sure my doctors were able or even willing to address them. Thank you very much!
