While the culture is not as sensitive as the PCR swab, it is still useful. Nothing you’ve described about your encounter concerns me that you’ve acquired HSV. Your high index value, likely for HSV 1, indicates you’ve been infected for a long time – probably orally since you’ve never received oral sex.
You could do an IGG for both but the best test is the western blot. But honestly, I don’t see a reason to do either AND there are false positives on the IGG that should be a concern. I think you don’t have genital herpes, if that’s what you are thinking
