-I know you always say autoinoculation is rare but this seems like it could be the perfect storm. Also I frequently see people claim they autoinoculated. Thoughts on this?
Autoinoculation can occur during the early months of infection, but after that, it would be extremely unlikely.
-Do I shed vaginally during an anal outbreak?
sometimes, yes
-While looking down there I noticed on my butt cheek two tiny white heads with red skin around them. Painless to touch. Does this sound herpetic?
no
-What would be the chances of having two outbreaks simultaneously in the boxer short area?
Low
-Sometimes I worry something is wrong with me bc I seem to still get outbreaks on suppression. Do I have a lot virus in me? Am I doomed?
It is quite common to break through on suppression. you may need to up your dose if this is happening often.
-I’m breastfeeding and worry about spreading it to my nipple. Is this a far fetched fear?
Yes, now we are talking about autoinoculation once again.
-I just worry a lot about spreading it around my body in general. Esp whitlow. Have you seen it happen? I worry about my husband too. Rational steps to prevent it from happening?
Your immune system is the best barrier to autoinoculation!
-Would you ever discourage someone with hsv2 from having more kids? Is already having 4 healthy babies pushing my luck related to neonatal hsv?
No, you aren’t pushing your luck. You’ll be on increased doses of medicine at around 34-36 weeks and have a c-section if an outbreak is noted. And you will have passed antibody to your baby at delivery.
– My babes. I love them so much and I worry about inadvertently infecting them with hsv2. Have you ever heard of this happening? Rational steps to prevent this from happening? Potential spread in towels freaks me out
Of course I’ve heard of neonatal herpes, but almost always in 1) women who didn’t know they were infected or 2) women who get infected in the third trimester who don’t have a c-section or 3) women whose membranes rupture and delivery doesn’t happen for a long time. I doubt that will happen with a 4th delivery.
-Im working with a CBT and have come a long way but still have so much fear &shame.
