Are you saying that your current partner has tested negative for HSV 2? If she has not been tested, we cannot know that she is not infected because 85% of those infected with HSV 2 deny any symptoms of herpes.
If you were my patient and your partner actually tests negative for HSV 2, I would recommend that you obtain the herpes western blot for confirmation of that HSV 2 value. I’m quite sure the HSV 1 will confirm but we’ve seen several false positives in the range of 6-7 on the IGG test as compared to the blot.
