If you’ve never had a cold sore now had a genital sore, we cannot know if your HSV 1 infection is oral or genital. If you get symptoms in either location, you should have it swab tested. Has your partner been tested to know their herpes status? I can’t really guide you on how cautious you should be with that partner if I don’t know their status as well. Maybe they don’t know their status either. I would say that there’s very close to is zero chance that this is a false positive with that higher number for HSV one.
