Did we do the blot conversation together? This sounds very familiar to me. If you’ve not arranged for a western blot, you should. I cannot tell from what you’ve told me if you have HSV ornate and if you do, what type. If the swab truly was positive, I would GUESS that it is more likely HSV 1 than HSV 2.
