Hi Terri,
My 3rd blot at 18 months came back negative for hsv2. I also paid for one swab kit from 24/7 labs and just rubbed the cotton swab along my penile shaft, I am not sure if that is best for someone without blisters. The swab was negative as well.
I continue to have groin discomfort and attempted to have sex with my longterm partner, and it was very uncomfortable.
Couple questions. Without active sores, is hsv able to transmit from my groin folds, testes, or skin around my groin? In other words, would having sex with a condom and then leaving my boxers on while sticking it out the fly so the majority of skin is covered really provide any potential benefit? I want to reduce risk in any way, especially not knowing what is going on.
I still think this is something to do with hsv as the only discomfort/sensitivity I have is in the boxer region and it’s widespread affecting the upper thighs, ground folds, scrotum, perineum, lower buttocks and even my a us where I get tingling, burning feeling and feeling of being chafed. The skin even burns at times when I pass gas. All of this started day two after an exposure, I had a 99.5 temperature at day 4-9 with chills etc. Prior to this, I have never experienced any issues or symptoms ever like this in my entire life.
I can’t afford to pay 70+ dollars daily for 30 days of swab tests from 24/7. I have been tested for fungus, bacteria, had mri’s, numerous blood panels, autoimmune testing, tried like 10 creams, antifungal meds, all products used are sensitive skin products, have tried cotton underwear all while also seeing 8+ different doctors who all just point at the positive igg and dismiss the blot. I am willing to try anything figure this out. Any advice at this point is so greatly appreciated as this is unbearable and I cannot imagine the rest of my life being like this moving forward. 18 months has already impacted me negatively by a large margin. I appreciate any help you can provide.
