I am not aware of the scientific literature on this and not at home to access my files on this. The IgM cannot distinguish between HSV 1 and 2 and also can’t distinguish HSV from other infections accurately. Also, your value is just BARELY positive, even on this terrible test. I wish you would trust the CDC’s guidance about this test.
I’ve seen people test positive on the IgM test at levels as high as 8 with negative IgG tests that are type-specific.
I’m afraid if you don’t believe the CDC guidance on this or me, then I’m afraid I cannot help you anymore with this very poor test and it’s impact on you.
