Testicular pain is not a symptom of herpes. Yes, you need the western blot. We have seen false positives on the inhibition assay, for sure, so I’m not comfortable recommending that to you. You’ll need to wait 12 weeks from the encounter with this woman to do the test for greatest accuracy. Or you could do it now and repeat it but it’s expensive, though some people do that.
You have a very low positive at this point and unless you just got it from her, it is unlikely that you’ve had this a long time.
Do you know if she had an antibody test?
