Do they automatically test you for both herpes 1 and 2? I remember my doctor at the time explaining the difference between the two but can’t remember if he tested for both or not.. my question is could I have contracted one and two both from the same person and have them both now? Would it even matter in the scheme of things…just wondering if it would be easier to catch hsv 1 from oral sex than hsv 2.. in case we decide the risk on that is acceptable. I think I just need a bit of reassurance about the risk of us having sex..I really love this man and he me and I would feel awful if I gave him something.. although we have discussed waiting further until we both know we will be together very long-term ( ie.marriage) before we get any more adventurous with things. I think it bothers me more than him.
Thank youbktSpectatorI don’t believe he has been tested. I think he just thinks he doesn’t have it. Should I have him get tested? If he tests positive then he could not have gotten it from me correct? since it takes about 3 months for it to show up and it has been about a month since our first encounter? He has been asking about things we can do and I wasn’t sure about any of it..So he won’t get anything from his genital area rubbing against my buttocks during sex or otherwise without a lesion present? do you think taking the birth control other than for pregnancy issues would help with my outbreaks? does that sound logical to you?
also, should I get tested for HSV 1 or do they do that automatically when I got tested long ago? I have never had a cold sore in my life but wasn’t sure if I could have it vaginally and not know it. Would that make any difference if I did in what we can do?
Thanks for your quick response and sorry for all the questions.. -
