Oh, i thought because the swab was only swabbed on one lesion, but yes, only had hsv1 from a swab test and the blood test. for hsv2 it was the blood test as well. i think i would definitely want the blot to confirm the hsv2, since i know i have 1 already. can i order the test through you? i just don’t see what else it could have been if it wasnt hsv1 with the antibodies that high
thanks again so much!June 14, 2021 at 8:38 pm in reply to: Non-stop gHSV1 and gHSV2 outbreaks every single day #73882
Please help! I thought this comes with 2 follow up questions…June 9, 2021 at 12:39 pm in reply to: Non-stop gHSV1 and gHSV2 outbreaks every single day #73861
Forgot to add that it’s presenting itself mostly as burning red patches inside the vagina and close to outer area. Just got tested again for yeast and bv all negative.June 7, 2021 at 6:49 pm in reply to: Non-stop gHSV1 and gHSV2 outbreaks every single day #73857
I know for certain I have HSV 1, because a false positive occurring on an IGG at that amount seems very unlikely, especially since the symptoms that followed it were exactly like genital herpes, and since the swab test was positive. And the Valtrax was working in the beginning. I had the ulcers and burning/tingling, so I know for sure I at least have some type of genital herpes. Also, I forgot to mention I tested negative for all other STDs.
I was tested for Bacterial Vaginosis, Yeast, etc. to test for all other causes, which all also came back negative as well. I read about Valtrax resistance over time, but was unsure. If I did get the blot, I did not know if it even matters if I have 1 or 2 because I know it’s genital herpes, and that the outbreaks won’t stop. The Valtrax is probably helping, I just think the severity of my case is just a nightmare. I live in Chicago, and yes the sores are usually there all the time. I have severe IBS, and the constant friction of toilet paper might play a role since I always have anal herpes mostly, and one big one on my labia. I don’t get why all of this is so much worse for me.
My two additional questions:
1) If you had to guess, do you think that the guy I recently slept with at the time gave me the HSV1? I had that many antibodies 3 weeks after the infection, and the outbreak was so severe that it seemed like a primary outbreak, I wanted to know if he gave it to me at the time or if I got it from someone else beforehand?
2) How come, (if I do have HSV2) when I got swab tested, the HSV2 did not show up? It seems like he gave me that one and that it was an HSV 2 outbreak, but the whole thing has left me confused? Because the antibodies are over 3.5 as well.
Thanks so much!
