Thanks! Enzo labs was able to do it after some back and forth with their lab manager. If anyone else is looking for options, I also found a place called Long Island Specimen Collections, which is a mobile phlebotomy service, but they weren’t prepared to do the aliquoting of the sample into the serum tube – they said they’d be prepared in the future.
My WB results came back negative, despite the screening indexes of 4.5+. My family’s been here for way more than 3 generations, so it’s not that either. Confused as to why I test so high but really glad I got the WBJune 8, 2021 at 9:36 pm in reply to: Two Inhibition Tests Indeterminate: Relatively high Screening Indexes #73859
I am dying here- cannot find any labs that are willing to process blood for WB in nyc area. No one seems to take outside orders. There’s no “any lab test now”. Do you have any advice??June 3, 2021 at 6:52 am in reply to: Two Inhibition Tests Indeterminate: Relatively high Screening Indexes #73819
Hi Terri. Thanks for your answer. I actually repeated the inhibition assay 4 weeks later, and got a screening index of 4.41, and the inhibition assay was once again “indeterminate” apparently.
I havent had sex in more than a year, so there’s no chance of a recent infection. I went ahead and ordered the Western Blot from UW and will hopefully have results in the next few weeks.
At this point I’m just going to wait for the WB result. Is it super strange to get multiple “indeterminates” on the inhibition assay, though? One of the drs I talked to suggested that it would be shocking to her if I was positive, since neither inhibition assay done in the past 8 weeks positively confirm it and apparently it’s very sensitive, almost overssensitive.May 5, 2021 at 5:12 am in reply to: Two Inhibition Tests Indeterminate: Relatively high Screening Indexes #73432
Actually, sorry, I may have just been being too hard on my dr from a place of ignorance. The inhibition assay on that one actually said the “negative; thus the result could not be determined” but listed the criteria (the greater or less than .6 thing) and she had circled the “NEGATIVE” in 2018. vs this one in 2021, it just has a reference range: NEGATIVE instead of criteria.
