I’m happy to hear your are all better. I cannot wait to say the same about my situation. What a nightmare the last twelve weeks have been. I feel like I’m getting somewhere now. Thanks again!
Thank you for letting me know about pelvic floor dysfunction and the book recommendation. How are you doing these days? Have your symptoms recurred, or have you been able to keep them at bay since going through physical therapy/massage? I’m just curious about your experience in case this is what I end up having and so that I have some idea what I might be looking at in the long run. Thanks man, I hope you are doing well!
Door23, thanks for letting me know, I will certainly look into that. Sounds like your numbness subsided, did it ever recur? Thanks..
Thank you for your honest opinion. I’m going to find another primary care doctor that can possibly get to the bottom of all this. I had a hunch that the doctor that diagnosed me may have been off the mark. She seemed to be in a rush every time I talked to her or visited with her, and honestly she didn’t seem to care much about my concerns, was hard to get a hold of, etc. I hope to have better luck with whoever I go to next.
My doctor only ordered a blood antibody and went off of those results, she did not do a swab on me. I have not had any lesions. I did forget to mention that after the numbness began I have experienced one blister on my scrotum and some redness on my penis. Additionally I have noticed that occasionally I get some dots on the head of my penis but they don’t turn into blisters thankfully, and they do subside.
I’ve noticed a couple of other things since the numbness began that may or may not be related to any of the symptoms I’ve experienced, but it may be worth mentioning here. I’ve noticed that when I look at my pee after I’ve urinated I notice some bubbles and clear particles in the pee. I’ve had two urine tests done with clean results. I’ve also noticed that I’ve been more bloated and gassy than my usual.
So basically the numbness is what got this whole thing started and had me going to seek medical care to figure out what was going on. Before I went to my primary care doctor I went to a couple of ER’s and Urgent Care clinics in a panic because I didn’t know what to make of the numbness. Most of the doctors I saw thought it could be my lower back, but I even had an MRI done and the doctor that reviewed my MRI result said it wasn’t my lower back. So when I finally saw my primary care doctor and showed her the MRI results she thought the cause of the numbness could be viral instead, and that’s how the herpes antibody test came about. But again, no swab, no classic HSV symptoms. Additionally, I was tested for other STI’s just in case and thankfully those came back negative (HIV, chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea, all done with blood or urine sample, no swab either).
Not sure what to think now, and in the back of my mind I keep wondering if my symptoms are due to something else other than the herpes. Several people in my own life have suggested this could be something else as well. Scared and confused here.
