Also I’ve done some reading on your forum and it looks like I’m definitely a candidate for the blot. I’ve already started that process. Question about positive supplementals: you mention that you have over 100 patients with positive supplementals and negative blots. What about patients with low index values and positive supplementals that were POSITIVE on the blot?
I guess I’m trying to figure out what my odds look like here. With a 1.72 index value for hsv 2, and a 54 for hsv 1. What’s the likelihood of false postive here just from numbers alone? I’ve read that 1.29 is 80ish % false positive which is very high. 1.72 would presumably be somewhere between 57% and 80%.
Also worth noting, in 2019 I tested for hsv 2 and came back negative. Less than .91.
What does it mean that 4 years ago I tested negative but now I’m testing positive with a low index value? Does the fact that the number has gone up hold any weight? Or could I go take the test again and possibly be back below .91 again?
