Hi Terri….. what I meant by “positive by association or negative by blood test” is that I rang a hospital STD unit and spoke to a nurse explaining my situation and she told me not to bother with the blood test that they are unreliable ,even though I told her the exact same thing i have shared with you, she said i am positive due to having a hsv2 husband..and I can only be tested if a lesion was present.
I have read many of your forums and have downloaded information from yr site, I consider you to be way more informed on the subject of hsv2 and trust and value your opinion. It is helping me. I believed all the information on the internet regarding hsv2 and self diagnosed I was asymptomatic. I was very stupid letting my pride stop me from seeking out help from doctors earlier, I could have made life choices a lot earlier in my life.
I still love my husband , it was not the hsv2 that crumbled our marriage.
thanks so much for your input:))))
hi terri
just a note on my previous post (am i positive by association or negative by blood test)
i am hsv1 positive since early childhood and the virus has gone dormant . I have not had an oral cold sore for about 20 yrs now.
Would this give me some immunity? ‘what is a discordant couple, does that mean that one partner is asymptomatic?and the other is v+hsv2?
The man I met 15 yrs ago is my husband in my original question.
