updates: I saw an ophthalmologist and they also said not ocular herpes and did a better job explaining why. Still taking doxy, after a little over a week all urinary/ejaculation symptoms are gone. I imagine you are going to recommend testing after enough time has passed, I just don’t know what else could have caused this since everything else came back negative.
I know this sounds stupid/irresponsible, but I suppose once symptoms went away for a couple years I kinda moved on from this issue, but now that it is back I’m honestly just terrified of taking the test and not being able to cope with a positive result.
To clarify some of the neuropathy, this morning was a perfect example and it was like an electric shock by my pinky toe that lasted for a few seconds
Hey Terri, I’m back after a couple years. Paid for some follow up questions. So all was good for about 2 years and about a month ago all my symptoms came back. Sensitive groin, aches in my butt cheeks, perineum, quads, and side of legs that is sporadic and lasts about 15 seconds at a time (this is usually only when I am sitting down). I’m wondering if these symptoms are consistent with heretic neuralgia?
This has been going on for about a month now, and I really don’t want to go through this 6 month cycle that happened last time and I feel like no doctor take me serious and I just don’t know where else to turn. I don’t know if this is just all stress and paranoia about herpes or what. I’ve never had blisters or lesions, but this is the second time I’ve had a long term on and off feeling of groin/thigh sensitivity and sporadic dull/achey leg pains. Also the shocks and pricks are back and I feel them everywhere from my ankles, groin, to my wrists/hands
Ya I agree about the testing window, problem has been that none of the doctors I’ve seen have been on board with getting retested. So that’s been frustrating. Testing at one month is about 50% accurate, correct? So as far as the antifungal pills, it was one pill a day for 4 days I believe. And yes I’ve been tested multiple times for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
I also forgot to mention that I get these random shocks/pricks in my legs, sometimes in other parts of my body. That, in conjunction with the leg and butt aches, are why I thought herpes. Either way, I’m sick of doctors saying this is all in my mind… I just want to feel normal again and fix what’s going on.
