I did not have a swab done, but there is absolutely no doubt that it is herpetic whitlow. The blisters went though all the stages. Like I said I tested positive for hsv2 prior and never had an outbreak anywhere so it would make sense that this is the location of it.

Is it accurate that whitlow is only contagious during an outbreak? Or do I need to be cautious with my finger at all times?
