Sorry, just to clarify, are you saying you’re concerned about HSV 1 in this scenario with these bumps, or just in general because my boyfriend has HSV 1?
He has given oral sex, but only a handful of times. If it was HSV 1 would that mean that both the PCR and IGG Test would have been false negatives? Is it likely that the PCR was a false negative? I read that it is very accurate, but it’s hard to get good information about these things.
The second batch of bumps was not swabbed but I got a blood test. I’m still waiting for the results on that.
If my boyfriend has never had symptoms of HSV 1, is it likely that I will get it from him through kissing?
Oh I should also add that I didn’t have any other symptoms both times I got the bumps, except for some white discharge after the bumps started healing and some mild constipation. Once again I’m not sure if these are related. After the first occurrence when I got the white discharge it was accompanied by some itchiness so I treated it as a yeast infection and it went away. The second time there was no itchiness.
Also my boyfriend got a blood test and tested positive for HSV1 IGG, somewhere around 8.4. But he has never had an outbreak in his life.
